Experian data breach exposes millions of T-Mobile consumers

If you applied for a T-Mobile postpaid account between Sept. 1, 2013 and Sept. 16, 2015, you might want to start checking your bank statements and credit report. That’s because a massive data breach at the information services group Experian has put the names, addresses and social security numbers of 15 million users at risk.

Experian says it discovered that an unauthorized party had accessed T-Mobile data stored on Experian’s servers. This data came from anyone who signed up — or had a credit check run — for T-Mobile service between September 2013 and September 2015
